What the heck happened...   

A short story about competence.

The great engineer Steinmetz after retiring was recalled by General Electric to locate a breakdown in a complex system of machines.  All GE experts had been baffled by it.  Steinmetz walked around, tested various parts of the machine complex, then took out his pocket a piece of chalk and marked an X on a particular part of one machine.

The engineers took the machine apart and discovered to their amazement that the defect was exactly where Steinmetz's chalk mark was located.

Some days later GE received a bill from Steinmetz for $100,000.00.  they protested and asked him to itemize the bill.  he sent back:

   Making one chalk mark:   $1.00

   Knowing where to make it:   $99,999.00

A WINNER says, "Let's find out."   A loser says. "Nobody knows."

When a WINNER makes a mistake, he says, "I was wrong."   When a loser makes a mistake, he says, "It wasn't my fault."   A WINNER goes through a problem.  A loser goes around it, and never gets past it.

A WINNER says, "I'm good, but not as good as I ought to be."   A loser says, "I'm not as bad as a lot of other people are."   A WINNER tries to learn from those who are superior to him.   A loser tries to tear down those who are superior to him.

 A WINNER says, "There ought to be a better way to do it."   A loser says, "That's the way it's always been done here."

The WINNER  - is always part of the answer...   The loser - always part of the problem...

The WINNER - always has a programme...   The loser - always has an excuse...

The WINNER - says: "Let me do it for you"...   The loser says: "That is not my job"...

The WINNER - sees an answer for every problem...   The loser - sees a problem in every answer...

The WINNER - sees a green near every sand trap...   The loser - sees two or three sandtraps in every green...

The WINNER - says' "It may be difficult but it's posible"...   The loser - says, "It may be posible but it's too difficult."

The difference between a WINNER and a loser is not much... It's just a matter of  ATTITUDE and the letter H.

A stingy newspaperman kept and save all the notebook pages which only had one side used.  Naturally such an economic move save him money... but consumed much of his time.  At the end of one year, he sat down and figured it out:

He saved 30 cents worth of paper.

He lost one dollar in time.

MONEY

Workers earn it.

Spendthrifts burn it.

Bankers lend it.

Women spend it.

Forgers fake it.

Taxes take it.

Dying leave it.

Heirs receive it.

Thrifty save it.

Misers crave it.

Robbers seize it.

Rich increase it.

Gamblers lose it.

I COULD USE IT...

Ingles na ang wikang gagamitin ko... at bilang pasimula narito ang isang munting kwento...

Remember whe HIPPIE meant big in the hips; and a TRIP involved travel in planes, cars and ships? When POT was a vessel for cooking things in, and HOOKED was the thing that a fish might have been...

When FIX was a verb that meant mend or repair, and BE IN meant simply existing somewhere.  When NEAT meant well-organized, tidy and clean, and GRASS was a ground cover, usually green.

When lights and not people were SWITCHED ON and OFF, and the PILL might have been what you took for a cough.  When CHICKEN meant poultry and BAG meant a sack, and JUNK - trashy castoffs and old bric-a-brac.

When JAM was preserves that you spread on your bread, and CRAZY meant balmy - not quite right in the head?  When CAT was a feline, a kitten growing up, and TEA was a liquid you drak from a cup.  When SWINGER was someone who swung on a swing, and a PAD was soft and cushiony thing.

When WAY OUT meant distant and far, far away and a man couldn't sue you for calling him GAY.   Words once so sensible, sober, and seroius are making the FREAK SCENE like PSYCHEDELIRIOUS.

It's GROOVY, MAN, GROOVY, but English it's not.

Me thinks that the language has gone straight to POT

Ang kabataan ang pag asa ng ating bayan...  Bakit natin sila pinababayaan...    

ANAK NG TINAPA…    May pasok na naman….

Nasanay sa sobrang tulog, kain at inom. Ang dami na naming dapat bawiing kolesterol na naipon.  Simula na naman ng trapik, kotong dito, taas ng krudo doon.  Puno na naman ang mga eskwelahan, pahinging matrikula at baon.  Pila na naman sa gobyerno, red tape dito, korapsyon doon.  Siksikan sa MRT, hipo dito, tulak doon.

May pasok na naman…    ANAK NG TINAPA…

Ano kaya ang nag aantay sa atin sa susunod na mga araw...  Madaming pagbabago, maraming di nagbago.

Sa panahon ng krisis, malaki talaga ang epekto ng mga malls katulad ng SM at Robinsons sa kamalayan ng bawat Pilipino. Wala na ung kasabihan ng matatanda na huwag gumastos tuwing bagong taon, sa kadahilanang buong taon daw magiging magastos.  Ang mga tao ngayon parangyaan o pabonggahan sa paggastos para kay Henry Sy at Gokong Wei.

Naisip ko lang, siguro ang katuwiran ng mga tao ngayon e, Mabuti ng gumastos dahil ibig sabiin nun e may panggastos, kaysa naman hindi nga gumastos at sumunod sa kasabihan nguni't walang panggastos ang tunay na dahilan.

Ikaw gumastos ka ba... o nananatili sa anino ng kasabihan?

Ako...  siguro... nandun pa din sa walang panggastos.

Unang araw, sana sa mga susunod na araw... nandun na ko sa may panggastos. 

Isang taon na naman ang lumipas, muli sasalubong tayo sa isang Bagong Taon...  Pero sa bawat taong nagdaan, may nagbago nga kaya sa kanila...

Sa pagkain natin ng medya noche, isipin natin ang mga tulad nila, na sa isang platong pansit ay maligayang pasko na ang katumbas.  Sa isang pirasong ubas, isang bagong taon na naman ang lumipas.
